A. A presentation from Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC of the draft 2025 audited financial statements.

IV. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES
A. Motion to approve the minutes of the April 8, 2026, Lower Alsace Township Supervisors’ meeting.
V. ROAD CREW FOREMAN REPORT
A. Road Foreman Carl Weikel to present his report.
B. The Road Foreman will provide any updates to the condition of the Butter Lane headwall.
C. The Road Foreman will discuss the road inspection in preparation of the 2026 Road Paving Project bidding process.
D. The Road Foreman will discuss the proposals for roof replacement to the salt shed.

VII. SOLICITOR’S REPORT
A. Solicitor’s report to be presented. No open items related to township property issues as of current.
B. Status of traffic & truck ordinance – No action needed. The matter is being addressed as part of the updated Joint Zoning Ordinance review process.

A. Engineer’s report to be presented.
B. Update on the progress of the Carsonia Avenue Multimodal Grant and project.
IX. BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS REPORTS
A. Planning Commission:
1) The most recent meeting of the Planning Commission was held on May 6, 2026, for a conditional use variance review for a property at 1795 Friedensburg Road.
A meeting of the Planning Commission is scheduled to be held on June 3, 2026, to review the proposed plans for expansion of the Redner’s Markets property at 801 Carsonia Avenue.
B. Zoning Hearing Board:
1) The most recent meeting of the Zoning Hearing Board was held on July 16, 2025.
A meeting of the Zoning Hearing Board is scheduled to be held on May 14, 2026, to review the Use Variance Application for the property at 16 Columbia Avenue.
A meeting of the Zoning Hearing Board is scheduled to be held on June 29, 2026, to review the proposed plans for expansion of the Redner’s Markets property at 801 Carsonia Avenue.
C. Antietam Valley Recreation & Community Center – no report.
D. Recreation Commission of Antietam Valley – no report.

XII. OLD BUSINESS
A. Update on the status of the review and update to the Joint Zoning Ordinance with the assistance of Hawk Valley Associates.
B. Update on the status of consideration of merger with Mount Penn Borough. The next steps are to form a merger committee, discuss potential meeting dates and times, prepare an agenda of items to be discussed, and discuss the process of a financial review of both municipalities. The financial review could be prepared with internal staff with the potential of having a contracted professional review the results.
C. Update on the status of the Leaseback proposal between the Mount Penn Borough and the Mount Penn Borough Municipal Authority.
D. Update on the status of the streetlight repair issues. Lights will be inspected to see how previous modifications are working.
E. The Central Berks Regional Police Zoning Code Official will update the status of fence issues related to property in 600 block of Penndale Avenue.
F. The Central Berks Regional Police Zoning Code Official will update the status of issues related to property in the 1400 block of Friedensburg Road.
XIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. Discussion and approval of 2026 event permits for the Pagoda Hillclimb to be held on June 20 and 21, 2026, and the Romanian Community Center event to be held on August 22 and 23, 2026.
B. Discussion of the scheduling and the process necessary to renew the Township’s Noise Ordinance Exemption for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board.
C. Discussion of a proposal to create a tax incentive for volunteer fire personnel.
