  • The most recent meeting of the Zoning Hearing Board was held on January 31, 2022. No new meetings of the Zoning Hearing Board have occurred, nor have any meetings been scheduled at this time.

  1. Discussion on potential project for use of American Rescue Plan Local Funds – to be discussed over the next upcoming meetings.

 

  1. Review of the results of the property transfer inspection recently performed by the Building Codes inspectors and officers at 1383 – 1385 Friedensburg Road.

 

 

  • NEW BUSINESS

 

  1. Approval of the Award of the 2022 Road Paving Project bid contract to Schlouch Incorporated for the total amount of $179,570.00.

 

  1. Review of special event permits for:

 

  • Reading Gravity Racing – Applicant has determined that on call services from an EMS service provider are not necessary.

 

2) Pagoda Hillclimb – Permit is applied for through the City of Reading as well as the Township. EMS services to be provided by the City of Reading.

 

  1. Approval of the Resolution to transfer the cash currently held in the Trust account into a new savings account. This is a result of the merger of BB&T into Truist Bank.

 

  1. Approval of the Resolution to file a petition with the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to substitute the Township’s noise ordinance for Section 493(34) of the Liquor Code.

 

  1. Review of the agreement proposal between Lower Alsace Township and the Antietam Valley Recreation and Community Center. The agreement is written to memorialize the understanding for the Township to provide snow plowing and trash collection services, as well as maintaining the American Flag at the community center. These services can arise year-round, these issues can arise at times when the AVRCC does not have staff to address these issues.

 

  1. Review and discussion of enacting an ordinance establishing a fire escrow policy.

 

  1. Review and approval of the agreement proposal between Lower Alsace Township and the Antietam School District to have the Township act as the applicant for a grant to remediate the streambank along Antietam Road at the high school.
